Why I Built This

I was typing long prompts to Claude, trying to give it context. But typing is slow. I kept truncating my thoughts. The AI didn't have enough to work with.

Then I realized — speaking is so much faster. I could ramble for a minute and give the full picture. But every dictation tool I tried either sent my audio to the cloud, or was bloated with features I didn't need.

So I built Dictate. One hotkey. Whisper running locally. Fast, accurate, private. Now I speak to AI naturally, give it the context it needs, and nothing ever leaves my Mac.
